So I guess my weekly formula requires more diligence then I generally muster, so... yeah sorry about that. I will affirm, however, that my long breaks between postings are more due to refining ideas rather then giving up on them. And also, a close friend of mine has become something of a co-creator to this project as we try to figure out a more detailed narrative for DFFT. We've gotten a good ways sidetracked on other narrative ideas that won't be in the game per se, but we'll see in the future.
That being said, I have decided to break up the overall narrative into three major acts and each act is named after the major chapter divisions from the original Dissidia Final Fantasy: Act 1-Destiny Odyssey, Act 2-Shade Impulse, and Act 3-Inward Chaos. Act 1 will be a multi-part path that covers each game in the main series plus Tactics, so potentially 16 story mission paths (assuming FFXV comes out by the time we work this part out). Act 2 will have several mission paths that involve enemies teaming up for the heroes to countermand, thus encouraging players to really mix and match their own party of characters from different games in the series. Act 3 is a simple single mission path that ends with Chaos as the final boss. Everything else will be sidequests and bonus missions.
My current to do list, beyond finishing out the incomprehensibly long task of assigning unique abilities to all 150+ characters, is to sort out the weapons and equipment situation. I might have enough to go on to start laying out the guide when I create missions and their unlocking path through the narrative. Until then, I do all I can to establish every character as unique and relevant to the gameplay part of this game.
