It turns out that sprite design is far more tedious than I initially expected, but resolve is unshaken. It is fair to say that for the time being, in this project's infancy, postings will be far and few between. In the mean time, I am greatly emboldened by this work that I found on a random forum, but I do not know who the artist is. Please inform me so so I can give credit where credit is due. And also: thank you to whom ever for reminding me that I am not the only one passionate about a project like this:

Next Phase of the Design Process.
Hey ya'll! So this project is still in the concepts stage though it has been gestating for years. If I really want to move on it, I've got to actually make something. So the task I'll be focusing on for the next indeterminate amount of time is doing sprite sheets for all the characters. This might be the most immense aspect of the project from the artistic standpoint considering the number of characters that will be done. The list of characters on the docket are as follows:
- Warrior of Light
- Firion
- Maria
- Guy

- Luneth (Freelancer & Onion Knight)
- Arc (Freelancer & Onion Knight)
- Refia (Freelancer & Onion Knight)
- Ingus (Freelancer & Onion Knight)
- Cecil (Dark Knight & Paladin)
- Kain
- Rydia (Adult Only)
- Rosa
- Edge
- Bartz (Freelancer)
- Lenna (Freelancer)
- Galuf (Freelancer)
- Faris (Freelancer)
- Krile (Freelancer)
- Terra (Normal & Esper Form)
- Locke
- Cyan
- Shadow
- Edgar
- Sabin
- Celes
- Strago
- Relm
- Setzer
- Mog
- Gau
- Umaro
- Gogo
- Coud
- Barret
- Tifa
- Aerith
- Red XIII
- Yuffie
- Cait Sith
- Vincent
- Cid Highwind

BTW, good news: cloud is already done (Thank you original Final Fantasy Tactics). Evidently, it's not a swift process, but it CAN and WILL be done. Fortunately, fans of the series have incidentally made their own sprite sheets of characters that are already on this list. I would very much appreciate your contribution and permission to add your work to this collection. As a side note, thank you to all those at Final Fantasy Hacktics for inadvertently galvanizing the fan-base to make this project a possibility.
I will post later on a more complete list that will include more side characters and hopefully mor full-on characters.

Welcome to Project DFFT!
Welcome friends and FF fanatics! If your looking for the most ingenious fan-made combination of two of the greatest spin-offs from the most influential video game series in the world, then you were probably looking for hacks of re-skinned characters for Smash Bros. Either that, or you have come to the right place; welcome to Dissidia Final Fantasy Tactics!
The premise of Dissidia Final Fantasy Tactics (heretofore referred to as DFFT) is very simple. We take the back-story and lore of the Dissidia Final Fantasy sub-franchise and inject it into the semi-classic Tactics format style of gameplay. In short: exactly what its title says.
There are several reasons for this project. First and foremost is a love for the series, and a fan cannot be expected to sit by and not want to contribute an idea that just feels so right. Secondly, Dissidia gave fans the best and most in-depth crossover of our favorite heroes and villains in a game type that most didn't think they would enjoy so much. Thirdly, the Tactics style of gaming offers the chance to include a much larger cast of characters and the widest variety of options to make the most out of each one of them.
When Dissidia was first announced, many fans speculated a huge roster including many of the playable characters throughout the series, even some very obscure ones. Though some may have groaned to see the roster as small as it was, we didn't complain when we realized in retrospect that this would've been impossible, or at least horribly impractical. Fighting games have historically suffered from overly large rosters, and Dissidia would have fared no better with all the complex mechanics it introduced. Adding as many new characters as it did in Duodecim 012 was certainly a joyous surprise, but we all knew that this had to be the limit.
Tactics knows no such boundaries. While most of the games have limited their rosters to 24 or 32 characters, theoretically, this restriction can be put much higher, allowing for as many as hundreds of characters.
Essentially, the hope and goal of this project is to make every playable character throughout the series playable in this game. It will be a massive army.
Given the magnitude of this project, all comments and suggestions are welcomed. Lets have some fun with it!
